The Carolina Conference oversees more than 120 churches and 20 companies in North and South Carolina comprised of a variety of ethnicities, including English, Spanish, Cambodian, Haitian, Karen, Korean and African congregations. The Conference has 16 elementary schools, five K-10 schools, two academies, one Adventist hospital and numerous community centers within its territory. With campuses in both Asheville and Elizabeth City, the 450 employees of Carolina Adventist Retirement Systems (CARS) provide care for 460 residents each day. The Conference also owns and operates Nosoca Pines Ranch retreat center and summer camp in Liberty Hill, SC, and the Adventist Christian Book Center in Charlotte. Membership in the Conference is nearly 21,000, and there are around 230 ministry workers employed as pastors, teachers, aides, office staff and administration.
